Bara, Windsor & Co., Ltd. was established in 1953 by Mr.U Chu Liang following the merger of Bara Company (Siam)., and export firm which he founded in 1942, and Windsor & Co., Ltd., an import firm established in 1870 by a group of German people. They were the agent of AG Faber of Giant Chemical of Germany (Bayer, BASF, Hoechst, etc.).
After the World War II when Mr.U Chu Liang assisted the company’s German principal, Dr.Schmidt. The merger had a synergistic effect, and over the last three decades Bara, Windsor & Co., Ltd. Has grown into one of the largest privately owned organizations in Thailand. Operations cover diverse industries such as agriculture products, textiles, manufacturing, real estate development, finance and securities trading, banking, insurance, trading and shipping.
Among the products, the company manufactures and distributes are: garments, fertilizers and pesticides, dyes and industrial chemicals, paints and lacquers, pharmaceuticals, scientific and medical instruments, sewing and cloth-cutting machinery, welding equipment, automobiles and photo developing and printing machinery.
